Angerona is a musician who composes instrumental synth tracks in 'new age' style, i.e relaxing and oniric. The album is natively mixed in 5.1-surround sound which thus takes advantage of the tridimensional feeling of surround. This is his second album on our site.

Elevation
For January on MySurround, let's tune to the coldness of winter with some electronic experimental music. This is the second album of Strange-A-Tractor, entirely composed and produced in true 5.1-Surround. The composer goes forward in his electronic sonic experimentations, always taking benefit of multichannel surround capabilites, however this album is significantly different from the previous (also available on MySurround) - maybe less esoteric and easier to listen to.
This second album heads toward electronic, slow, mysterious musical directions, without the use of classical instruments. The general ambiance can remind dreams, fantasy, imaginary thoughts. There is a part of mystery but also peacefulness and calm in it. The stereo version of the album reproduces all of this quite well (and the dbr.mp3 stereo files are, as always, included in the list of files to download), but the surround sound version makes it all different sounding, with a specific depth and spatial accuracy.

Music & Poems #1
Tim Dermont is a musician specialized in creative remixes. This album is the first in a row of albums dedicated the remixing of audio poetry books with original compositions by Tim (a second album is also on our site). In a quite novel way, Tim Dermont has composed and arranged original soundtracks based on the inherent poems' melody. Those poems are in English and provided by www.librivox.org. They are originally in the public domain (please note that Tim Dermont's album is not). The advantage here is that the poem is heard in a consistent musical ambiance. The poem takes advantage of the music and vice versa – it all sounds nice-tasting and cool.
The whole album has been engineered with 5.1 surround in mind. Incidentally, the surround mixing work done on this album makes particularly sense: while the soundtrack is mainly played on the four speakers in the room's corner, the voice comes from the front center speaker which is primarily intended for dialogs in Home Cinema specifications.
